My children play outside non-stop during the warm summer months! All that playing leads to hungry children, constantly asking for snacks. Hot kids really enjoy cold snacks like popsicles and ice cream. I don’t mind a sugary snack every now and then, but when kids are really hungry and snacking often I prefer to serve healthier options. Fresh Baby Products make serving healthy (and homemade) cool snacks easy.
Today I’m sharing three great products from Fresh Baby that make healthier summer time snacking fun and easy. Make sure to enter the giveaway at the bottom of this post to win all three summer snacking products from Fresh Baby for your little one!
This adorable little popsicle maker allows you to make healthy popsicles all summer long with whatever ingredients you have on hand. The popsicles pictured here are simply a handful of strawberries, a large spoon of watermelon chunks, a big dollop of yogurt and splash of milk blended up. I find it really easy to make an extra big blender of breakfast smoothie, and pour the leftover into the molds (you only need 12oz total to fill this popsicle mold). By afternoon our popsicles are ready to enjoy! If you prefer an exact recipe check out Fresh Baby’s recipe collection and Pinterest boards for ideas.
I’ve used several different popsicle makers in the last 10 years, so far each one had two drawbacks. First, it’s too easy to overfill each popsicle, so inserting the stick/handle creates spills and a sticky mess to clean up. The design of the So Easy Popsicle Maker eliminates that issue. Since the carrot top is rounded, and the popsicle stick is nice and thin, I was able to fill each section to the top, and insert the carrot top with zero popsicle juice spilling out! The second problem with most popsicle makers, is getting the popsicle OUT of the mold once it is frozen. I want to serve popsicles to my children outside, but I always need to bring our old popsicle molds inside to run under hot water to remove the popsicle. Since the So Easy Popsicle Maker is made from pliable silicone rather than hard plastic, there is no need to run the mold under hot water to remove the popsicle. Simply pull gently on the carrot top while pressing on the bottom of the mold, and the popsicle pops right out!
This little thing might not look like much but, oh do my children fight over this push pop style popsicle! I definitely need to invest in several more of them! This Pop Maker is also made of soft silicone, which makes it easy for my little one to squeeze and raise the popsicle herself. The top fits securely, so I didn’t have to worry about spills in my freezer. In fact, the Pop Maker can double as a snack pouch for on-the-go snacking.
This snack cup is different from others, since it’s made of pliable silicone just like the Pop Makers. Have you ever been hit in the head by a flying snack cup while driving your car? I sure have and it hurts! Not to mention the countless times my little one drops his cup on my toe while I am holding him! Ouch again…and again…and again! Am I the only one that happens to all the time??
When I took this snack cup out of the package and realized it was soft silicone I was immediately ready to throw out all the other snack cups I’ve ever owned. This is genius! A soft snack cup! Jon definitely approves too!
This cup is perfect for all the normal baby and toddler snacks: dry cereal, crackers, cut fruit, etc. But how about keeping with the cold snack theme? I love to serve frozen fruit pieces to my toddlers- grapes cut in half and small banana chunks are always a favorite. They are a great cool treat in Jon’s snack cup for a hot summer afternoon!
