My 5th baby turned 5 this week. How crazy is that?
My children and I have been huge VTech fans for at least 12 years. I find that their products never disappoint either the children or me. The new VTech InnoTab MAX is no exception! When the box arrived, my children could not wait to open it and start playing! I’m a homeschooling Mom, and I often find that keeping my younger kids engaged during school time can be difficult. I love having
Since Emily started toddling we’ve called her our ‘toddler terrorist’- never knowing what to expect from her moods. She wasn’t very easy to parent for a good year and a half. However 3 1/2 is a great age for her. She’s suddenly able to get her point across with words and less frustration. She has the most adorable facial expressions, and even developed a sense of humor that has us
Still no snow outside, which I am very grateful for! It’s actually been a beautiful week, with many afternoons spent outside. I’ll take 54 degrees in January over snow any day! Since it’s not snowing outside, we made some snowflakes for inside the house. I shared the tutorial for Glitter Salt Dough Snowflakes over at Musings From a Stay at Home Mom. Pop on over to check them out and
Before Big Family Blessings I wrote a more private blog which was mostly a journal of our day to day life. When Emily was 4 months old I wrote a post about being Supermom, since so many people at the time seemed to think that I had it all together. The post was my attempt to set them straight, to demonstrate that I am far from perfect as a Momma.
Emily says, “I need to snip, Mommy!” It’s her new favorite school time activity. I love how it occupies her, but boy do we end up with a huge mess to clean up when school time is over! I keep waiting to find something important all “snipped” up. We try to keep the scissors out of her reach, except during school or craft time. However, I often find the art
Sometimes bedtime comes and I am wishing for a do over; knowing I didn’t make the best parenting decisions during a rough day. Today is not one of those days! I am so, so glad the day is over; the morning was so terrible I don’t even wish for a do over. I am just glad for the fresh day that is coming tomorrow and wishing I could wipe today
Since we only had two days on the lake with Rob last month, we decided to head back to Virginia for one last summer lake weekend. The big four kids went up a few days early for some extra time at Grandma’s. I packed their suitcases without looking up the weather. It’s August in the south- I knew to expect hot, hotter, or sweltering. WRONG! It felt like we went
We spent our second week in Virginia at Lakehaven, my parent’s house on the lake. My Great-Grandfather bought land on the lake long ago and now many of his children and grandchildren have houses there. Being used to city life and strangers for neighbors, it is quite special to be related to just about everyone on the street! Some of the properties have been sold out of the family, but due to the close-knit nature
