How to make a Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Board

First choose a platter or board to serve your Hocus Pocus Charcuterie on. For my Charcuterie Board I used this 13 inch glass platter. You’ll want a platter or board that is at least 13 inches wide in order to fit the Sanderson sister’s faces across the board. You can use a square, rectangle, or circular board for your Hocus Pocus Charcuterie.

Choose 3 circular cheeses and lay them across the serving plate for the Sanderson Sister’s faces. I used Camembert and Brie for my tray. Any circular cheese will work. Another great option is a thick slice of smoked gouda.

Next, make the Sanderson Sister’s faces. You’ll need something black for the eyes and beauty mark. I used pieces of black olives for my faces. You could also use a piece of licorice, a food safe marker, or even gel icing to draw the eyes on each face.

You’ll also want something red for the the lips. I used strawberries for my mouths, but other good options would be a raspberry, a string of red licorice, a piece of red bell pepper, or a red food safe marker.

Be sure to pay attention to the details of the faces. Winifred has large pursed lips and Sarah needs a beauty mark above her lips.

Next, begin working on the hair of each Sanderson sister.

Start with Winifred in the middle of the platter. She has curly, red hair in two top knots.

I used a pack of salami for the hair. You could also use pepperoni for her hair. To make the curls, lay each piece of salami down, fold it in half, then roll the salami from one side to the other. You’ll want to squeeze the bottom edge of the Salami to keep the roll from coming undone.

Layer the rolled salami above the middle cheese so that it looks like two top knots.

Mary’s hair is a black updo. Use blackberries to make the bun on top of her head. Other options for Mary’s hair could be dried figs or raisins.

Sarah has long blond hair. Cut small squares from a light yellow cheese and place the squares around the side of Sarah’s head like a long braid. I used a white shark cheddar for Sarah’s hair. Any light colored cheese will work, such as mozzarella or Swiss.

Next, we will work on the dresses for each Sanderson Sister.

Winifred wears mostly green, so slices of kiwi make a great dress. You could also use green grapes or slices of green apple.

Sarah wears pink and red most of the time. Strawberries make a great dress for Sarah. You could also use raspberries, cherries, red apples, or watermelon cubes.

Mary wears orange and purple. I used slices of mandarin orange for the sleeves, and red grapes for the bodice. You can choose to use all orange, or all purple and she’ll still look great.

Now that the Sanderson sisters are finished, all that’s left to do is to fill in the plate with other snacks!

You can finish filling the board with your families favorite snacks. Great options include crackers, pretzels, nuts, other cheeses and meats, olives, or other fruits.
