3 Month Old Jonathan + a Giveaway

Sharing is caring!

Jonathan 3 monthsJonathan is 3 months old, actually yesterday he was 3 months old. It slipped up on me!

He started life as an easy baby, but pretty quickly turned into an unhappy and fussy one.  My first baby with colic, and it was so tough. Especially since he also has 5 siblings!  I cried with my newborn for the first time ever- on multiple occasions.

I am beyond thankful that we realized his issues could be fixed just with some changes in my diet!  No more dairy or soy for me, but it is worth it to have a happy baby.

Not to mention getting thrush.  Wowza, that is no joke!  My babies always get thrush, but I’ve never had any symptoms myself.  This time if there had been formula in the house I would have never let him touch me again.  It hurt so bad! Thank goodness that wasn’t an option, because I can only imagine what we would be going through trying to find a formula that works for him with his food sensitivities.

3 months is such a milestone.  Leaving the “newborn” stage behind.  Its bittersweet.  The last three months have been hard, but awesome simultaneously.

I love watching his personality develop.  How he already knows that his big siblings equal playtime.  The way he smiles at me like I am his one true love and fusses at me if another is holding him.  Finally, beginning to figure out his rhythm and meeting his needs before he gets upset.

It’s always sad not to have a teeny tiny one though…not that he ever was teeny tiny!  He’s solidly in 6-9 month clothing! I think God made him big and sturdy so he could survive the love of his big siblings who are so eager to get their hands on him.

Truthfully, he still isn’t the most content baby in the world, but I would say he is happy.  He fusses some, but I think that is usually due to me incorrectly guessing at his needs.  It turns out that he hates to be tired, but he also hates to go to sleep.  He also likes to lay alone on the floor just watching the world and I forget to give him the chance.

I definitely love him like crazy!  I am so glad to see a happy, smiley baby emerging.  I can’t wait to see who he will become.

I thought I’d celebrate this milestone with a giveaway of one of my favorite newborn products. I love Angel Dear muslin swaddles, so I’m giving one away in my favorite blue and green owl print!

  1. My youngest recently starting walking and that has been very exciting! She fell at first and got many nasty bruises on her head and face, but she’s getting the hang of it now. She is very small with tiny feet and short legs, and just watching her do her penguin-like shuffle brings a smile to my face 🙂

  9. I don’t know if I can pick just one – they all have such great parts (and not so great parts, to be honest). But the time when they learn to smile on purpose, and start to give you that great big grin every time they see you – that’s pretty awesome!

  10. I honestly can’t say!!! Newborns are so cuddly and lovable and it’s such a precious time, but watching them starting to learn to crawl, then walk, and hug, and hear their sweet first words… it’s such a toss up! I’m going to go with any time that they are healthy and happy 😉 BTW, your little guy is so precious.. all that hair and his angelic little face.. lucky mama!!!
