Summer STEAM Fun at Walmart

How many times have you heard, “Mom, I’m bored!” this summer? While kids look forward to the freedom of summer, after a busy and structured school year, sometimes they struggle to keep themselves occupied in the long expanse of freedom that comes with summer. This summer, I’m stocking up on fun, brain boosting activities to pull out on those days when the kids get bored.
On July 27th, Walmart is hosting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) events in-store to get parents and kids in the back-to-school spirit. Only 2000 Walmart stores are participating in the STEAM events which center around centered around fun and engaging activities for the parents and children to do together. Some of the activities at the events will include: making Tie-Dye t-shirts, Slime, and Cereal Necklaces. While waiting to attend a STEAM event near you, get a Elmer’s slime kit from Walmart for some at home STEAM fun today!
These great Elmer’s kits make slime easy, with everything you need in the box! My daughter and I enjoyed making glow in the dark slime with Elmer’s Glow in the Dark Slime Kit.
Simply pour a bottle of Elmer’s glue into a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of Magical Slime Liquid, and stir. Then add two more tablespoons of Magical Slime Liquid and stir until the slime forms.

When your child is done playing with her slime, clean up any mess with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
I feel good about providing STEAM activities for my kids to help with the summer brain slump. But, I also love keeping messy fun out of my house. That’s why I’m so excited about the STEAM events at Walmart later this month!
