Fall is fast approaching, and with it comes sports season. Soon evenings will be filled with practices while Saturday will include early morning games.
The biggest four children are playing Upward Basketball at a nearby church on Saturday mornings. It’s been a long time since our family has enjoyed team sports. There is something wonderful about being part of a team, and we love the fun and relaxed atmosphere Upward Basketball provides. Rob surprised us by allowing Michael to cut his hair in a fohawk. The agreement is that it is temporary, only for football season or a few games. This morning, before the game, I painted Michael’s fohawk blue with temporary dye. And Rob reminded him of their agreement that only good players wear fohawks…keeping the haircut required a touchdown or getting a bunch of flags today. Well, Michael kept up
We sure are! Football season is a favorite here. The beginning of football season means that some of the best of our year is about to happen. Watching football on television is a family affair. We can’t wait to fill the folding table with our favorite snack foods for “football and snack dinner” nights. It means evenings of lighting the fireplace aren’t too far away. What a week we’ve had! Spring is definitely here with its busy schedule and tons of fun. We had sports every night this week, except for Friday, often with multiple practices or games in one day. Plus we had a play date one day and spent a day at a local farm too. Today, before Rob left for work I snuck away for an hour nap. Our full schedule and too many late nights at
Rebekah’s team, the BatGirls, started our first game day of the season with a bang– winning 13 to 1! It is going to be a great season for Rebekah; she has wonderful coaches and teammates and she loves the game. Miriam moved up to a new division this season. She now plays kid pitch and runners can steal bases. It is a whole new world. Hopefully as the girls practice this season
