Sharing is caring!

Living with a toddler in the house can be a challenge! No matter how often you clean the house, there is always a new mess to clean up. Between the tantrums, messes, and the hustle and bustle of daily life, being a mom becomes a lot harder with a toddler in the house!

Now that I’ve survived mothering 6 toddlers, it’s time to share my favorite toddler mom life hacks.

If you are looking for ways to make your life easier with a toddler, this list will help! Here are ten brilliant mom hacks that will simplify your life with a toddler.

10 Brilliant Mom Hacks to Simplify Life with a Toddler

Give two choices when you need your toddler to make a decision

Battling with your toddler for an answer or trying to figure out what your toddler wants can feel like an impossible task. Instead, give them two choices when asking them to decide on something. This will make them feel more in control of the situation and end the battles!

Set a nap schedule and sleep schedule and stick to it!

Determine the best time for a nap for your toddler and bedtime. No matter what happens, try your best to stick to these times. They will get in a rhythm and go to bed faster, and you can plan your day around these times!

If your toddler is a picky eater, get them to help you in the kitchen

Having your toddler help in the kitchen can not only get them involved in the task but also help them warm up to the idea of eating whatever you’re making. When they feel like they made something themselves, they will be more likely to eat it.

Simplify your home by doing regular decluttering sessions

The less that you have in the house, the less that you will have to clean!

Create a double batch when you cook

The next time you make a meal, make double the recipe! It usually takes about the same amount of time, and you have a freezer meal ready to go when you need it later!

Focus on doing major cleaning tasks after your toddler is asleep for the night

Don’t spend all day cleaning up after your toddler! Instead, do some basic tidying throughout the day and use the nighttime hour for the larger cleaning jobs.

Use toothpaste to remove permanent marker from almost any surface

We’ve all been there. Your toddler has found the sharpies instead of the magic markers! Use a little bit of toothpaste and use it as a stain remover to remove permanent marker from furniture, floors, and even the walls! And if that doesn’t work there’s always magic eraser!

Use a toy rotation system to keep toys “fresh and new.”

Divide your child’s toys into about two or three sections. Store two away for later and one for now. When your child is sick of the toys, swap them out!

Keep snacks with long shelf lives in your bag for emergency snacks

Snacks like granola bars, fruit snacks, and nuts last a reasonably long time! These are great to have on hand for a filling snack when you need one!

Use old T-shirts as chair covers to avoid a messy car

Cover your car seat with an old shirt. This will avoid getting mud, boogers, and anything else nasty on the seats of your car! When it’s dirty, remove the shirt, and your car is fresh and clean!

Using these simple hacks will help make your life simple, and maybe a tad bit easier. Living with a toddler is never going to be simple, but these hacks will make things go smoother.
