How to Make a Gnome Scarecrow Craft

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wooden Paint Brush
  • Wooden Ball or Bead
  • Assorted Buttons
  • Black Gingham Ribbon
  • Mini Silk Fall Leaf
  • Acrylic Craft Paint in Light Brown and Medium Brown
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (or your favorite craft glue)
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Ruler
  • Pencil

Instructions:

Basecoat the entire paint brush (except for the bristles), and the jumbo craft stick with light brown acrylic craft paint.

Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Dry brush medium brown acrylic craft paint over the light brown in a cross-hatch pattern to resemble burlap. Let dry.

Measure the jumbo craft stick to 5 inches long and cut with scissors.

Attach the jumbo craft stick to the bottom edge of the paint brush with a glue gun and glue sticks to create the scarecrow’s hat brim.

TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach black gingham ribbon around the paint brush just above the hat brim.

Tie additional black gingham ribbon in a bow and glue to the top of the paint brush.

Trim any long ends of the ribbon with scissors.

Attach the wooden bead to the center of the scarecrow gnome’s beard with a glue gun and glue sticks.

To finish, embellish the scarecrow’s hat with buttons and mini silk leaves.

Create this adorable Scarecrow Gnome in about 30 minutes with just a few simple supplies- everyone will want one!
