Equipment:

  • microwave safe bowl
  • spoon
  • round silicone mold
  • scissors
  • pipping bag

Ingredients:

  • White candy melts or almond bark
  • green candy melts
  • hot chocolate mix
  • marshmallows

Directions:

Place a plate in the freezer.

Melt your green candy melts, then spoon the green chocolate randomly into the round molds and place the molds in the freezer to harden.

Melt the white chocolate. Then remove the molds from the freezer. Spoon the melted white chocolate into the molds.

Use the back of the spoon to coat the mold completely, making sure to wipe away any excess chocolate.

Freeze the molds again

Prepare the ingredients for the inside of the hot cocoa bombs.

Remove the frozen plate from the freezer.

Carefully remove each half of the cocoa bomb from the mold and place on the now frozen plate.

Melt more green candy melts and fill a pipping bag with melted green chocolate.

Use the piping bag to draw shamrock shapes on the outside of the white chocolate cocoa bombs.

Place the bomb halves back on the frozen plate and place the plate back in the freezer until the shamrocks are well hardened.

Remove the plate from the freezer, and turn the bomb halves over to begin filling.

Add 2 large spoonfuls of hot chocolate mix into one half of the bomb. Add several mini marshmallows.

Now, you’ll connect the two halves of the bombs.

Using a piping bag and melted white chocolate, pipe a line of white chocolate around the filled half of the hot chocolate bomb.

Next, place an empty half of a cocoa bomb on top. Go back around the bomb with the melted white chocolate, filling in any gaps. Then, gently smooth the line of melted chocolate out with the tip of your finger, or the back of a spoon.

That’s it! Now you are ready to enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day Hot Cocoa Bomb!
