Be Prepared with a Vacation Wellness Kit
With young kids and summer travel on the way, I’m sharing how to pack a vacation and travel wellness kit. It’s awful to be away on vacation when sickness hits. After having 6 children I’ve learned to always keep the basic necessities for sickness on hand for every vacation!
This weekend we traveled to visit family, and our Vacation Wellness Kit was the first thing in the suitcase. Thankfully this trip, we didn’t have any down time due to sickness. But, it seems more often than not, I’m glad I packed wellness necessities in the suitcase!
Nothing is worse than a sick child on vacation… except for a sick child and no medication while on vacation! After traveling countless times with my children, I’ve learned to always carry a fully stocked Vacation Wellness Kit.
Vacation Wellness Kit
You need:
- cosmetic bag
- printable vacation wellness check sheet
- Little Remedies® Probiotic Plus Electrolytes
- 8oz bottle of water
- pain reliever/fever reducer
- children’s antihistamine
- nasal saline spray
- antibiotic cream
- bandaids
- anti-itch cream
- thermometer
- teething medicine
Directions:
Chose a cosmetic bag big enough for all the wellness necessities. I like to use a really big cosmetic case, so I can also add my own medicines to the bag before leaving on vacation.
Print the vacation wellness check sheet and add any other items your child needs, such as prescriptions, special lotions, or allergy medicines before stocking the cosmetic case.
Use the checklist to load the cosmetic bag with all the necessities, including Little Remedies® Probiotic Plus Electrolytes which contains 5 billion active cultures of the probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, to help balance the digestive system and support immune function. It also contains electrolytes that helps to support hydration. In fact, it’s the only pediatric product that combines both a probiotic and electrolyte in one easy to use packet.*
An upset stomach away from home is my biggest nightmare on vacation. I keep a small bottle of water and the NEW Little Remedies® Probiotic Plus Electrolytes, a dietary supplement that supports digestive health and keeps kids hydrated in my kit.
Add the loaded cosmetic case to your suitcase with all the other things your child needs on vacation.
Whether traveling for just one night, or embarking on a long trip, this kit is then first thing to throw in the suitcase! In fact, I recommend keeping a Vacation Wellness Kit fully stocked and ready to go. Packing for yourself and your kids for vacation is stressful enough, if you keep the Wellness Kit ready to go, it’s one less packing checklist you’ll need to keep up with. When your child is unexpectedly sick on vacation, this kit is a lifesaver!
When you come back home from vacation, check the Vacation Wellness Kit check sheet, and restock the kit immediately. Store the kit with your travel toiletries, or inside your suitcase.
I trust Little Remedies to provide safe products for my family, so I’m really excited about Target’s buy 1 Little Remedies product and get a $5 Target Gift Card offer (valid from April 24th to May 14th). Remember, you’ll find Little Remedies® Probiotic Plus Electrolytes in the DIGESTIVE aisle rather than the baby aisle.
Head to Target to grab all the necessities for your Vacation Wellness Kit and be prepared when sickness hits on vacation!

I have yet to experience a sick child on vacation (knock on wood!), but I’ll be bookmarking this so I can be prepared before our upcoming summer trip. Love the printable checklist! I’m a big fan of Little Remedies products, but I didn’t know they made a probiotic. Looking forward to checking it out!
I love the idea of a vacation wellness kit checklist. Very helpful especially for families that have children. Thank you for this post!
This is such a smart thing to do. Your check list is perfect. We were vacationing years ago when our daughter developed and ear ache. Thankfully a pharmacist was able to help us out by looking in her ear and recommending something over the shelf. We never left home unprepared again!
What a great idea. In all the years I have travelled with kids I never thought of doing this. You just never know when you need these things, and to have them on hand is great.
How smart to have a checklist and a “emergency” pack ready for vacations. I can recall a few vacations that were ended to quickly due to illness. I wish I would have thought of this.
This is such a smart idea! You’re a wise woman! 🙂
A vacation wellness kit is a absolute must! I learned with my first that I always needed a few basics on hand because, of course, when you actually need them, it’s never a convenient time. Love the idea of using a cosmetic bag to stash them all in.
What a great idea! Just this past weekend, we were at the football field and found that I needed to have a bag with me full of essentials.
Oh I like the use of a cosmetic bag so much better than a plastic bag! It looks better, and no chance of anything falling out or the bag snagging and ripping a hole! (I use a plastic bag but will be changing that!) I love your list of essentials for traveling, it’s more inclusive than what i usually have! Especially including the Little Remedies! I wouldn’t have thought about that in a travel kit! -client
