  • Colored craft papers
  • Cardstock paper
  • Glitter paper
  • Pencil
  • Markers
  • A pair of scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Printed nativity template

Instructions:

Download the nativity template.

Print and cut out the template patterns. Select colored craft papers for the Mary, baby Jesus and Joseph figures. Select cardstock papers for the stable. Trace the template patterns on the selected papers and cut them out nicely.

Add hair and beard details with a brown or black marker to the three head cutouts, as shown below.

Cut a horizontal slit near the top middle of Joseph’s headscarf.

Insert the top end of the head through the bottom edge of the slit. Use glue to secure the head cutout to the head scarf.

Take Joseph’s body base cutout and form a cylinder shape with it. Apply glue along the overlapped edges to secure the shape.

Glue the head to the cylinder shape, near the top.

Follow the same steps to make Mary’s figure.

Take the manger cutout and attach the zigzag border along the top edge.

Connect the short edges of the manger to create circle. Secure the edge with glue.

Make baby Jesus by rolling the body piece and securing it with glue. Then attach the head.

Take the stable base cutout and make folds along the folding lines.

Fold up the base along the folding lines and glue them as shown below.

Fold the roof cutout in half and glue it to the top of the stable craft.

Place Joseph and Mary inside the paper stable.

Place the manger inside the stable, in front of Joseph and Mary.

Place a piece of crumpled paper inside the manger and then place baby Jesus on the top.

Add a glittering star to the top of the manger to complete the 3D Nativity craft.
