One Easy Way to Give to Your Favorite Charity While Christmas Shopping
This post is sponsored by Amazon, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanksgiving is behind us, so now the Christmas preparations can begin in earnest. The calendar is quickly filling up with all of our favorite Christmas things – parties, baking cookies, present wrapping, nativity plays, and visiting family.
My kids are begging to pull out bins of Christmas decor to make our home merry and festive.
Meanwhile, I’m finally sitting down to make a final Christmas shopping list. I’m usually an early shopper, but this year Christmas snuck up on me. I have very few presents bought (or planned!) with only a few weeks remaining until Christmas. Yikes!
I try to do most of my Christmas shopping online. It helps me stay organized and on budget. Not to mention that shopping with six children is not usually very successful! At least we already stocked up on plenty of wrapping paper, so we can start wrapping as soon as presents arrive.
This year I learned of a few great (and easy!) ways to give back and Deliver Smiles while buying gifts.
Amazon has three easy ways to donate to your favorite charity this holiday season!
- Shop using AmazonSmile – just choose your favorite charity and they’ll receive a portion of the purchase price from eligible products when you shop via smile.amazon.com. It’s so easy.
- AmazonSmile Charity Lists allow you to purchase items to be donated and delivered directly to the charity or cause of your choice. Simply start your shopping at smile.amazon.com
- Donate with any Alexa-enabled device by saying “Alexa, I want to make a donation.” Then you’ll able to donate to a registered charity of your choice.
I feel even better about my Christmas purchases this year since I can use AmazonSmile to do all my shopping. And since online shopping is so much more efficient for me, that leaves more time to spend with my kids doing all our favorite Christmas activities.
All year long, but especially during the Holiday season, my children and I discuss how important it is to give back, whether using time and talents to serve others, or by giving financially.
In truth, being a single mom with six kids, I don’t often have extra money to give to charity. It’s a stretch just to get Christmas gifts bought for my kids and our extended family. I struggle to donate money during the holiday season. That’s why I’m so excited about AmazonSmile. My kids and I usually give back using our time rather than money, but this year I can do both thanks to AmazonSmile!
This year we chose to donate to Won by One to Jamaica with our AmazonSmile purchases. I’m so excited that we can Deliver Smiles to a cause that is so dear to our heart. My teens and I are looking forward to returning to Jamaica this summer to partner with Won by One to Jamaica, but until then it feels so good to continue supporting the mission through AmazonSmile!
Be sure to click through AmazonSmile while online Christmas shopping this year. Find your favorite charity and help them while you buy the gifts you would have bought anyway.
If you don’t know the exact thing to purchase for your recipient why not give an Amazon gift card? You can give your loved ones the opportunity to give back to their own favorite charity by shopping with the gift card through AmazonSmile or Charity Lists.
Which of these three easy ways will you use to join Amazon in Delivering Smiles this Christmas? Let me know with #DeliveringSmiles.
You always have the best tips and tricks! With the holiday season coming up fast and furious I’m going to need all the help.
