How to Make a Popsicle Stick Christmas Craft
Materials:
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Regula Craft Sticks
- Faux Pine Greenery Stems
- Clear Rhinestones
- Craft Glue or a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Craft Paint – (We used red and brown)
- Cardstock – Black, Gray, Red, & Light Blue
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Printed Pattern
Instructions:
To create the car base, line up three jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to width and attach with glue
TIP: We used a glue gun and glue sticks for this craft. If you prefer, you can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Paint the car with red craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Cut a regular craft stick in half with scissors.
Paint the tree trunks with brown craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Download, print, and cut out the car patterns.
Trace the wheel pattern two times onto black cardstock, trace the hub cap two times onto gray cardstock, trace the car roof pattern onto red cardstock, trace the car windows onto light blue cardstock, trace the tree onto cardboard with a pencil.
Cut out all patterns with scissors.
Glue the windows to the roof, and the hub caps onto the wheels.
Glue the car roof to the top edge of the car body, and the wheels to the bottom.
Attach a self-adhesive clear rhinestone to the front of the car as the headlight.
Glue the tree trunk to the base of the cardboard Christmas tree.
Attach the end of a faux pine greenery stem to the base of the Christmas tree with glue.
Wrap one faux stem around the Christmas tree, then attach a second stem and continue wrapping until the cardboard is covered.
To finish, attach the Christmas tree to the top of the car with glue.
