How to Make a Popsicle Stick Nativity Ornament

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Felt
  • String or ribbon
  • Pencil

Instructions:

Cut the popsicle sticks as shown below. (You can precut the popsicle sticks for younger kids)

Cut another popsicle stick to the width of four popsicle sticks.

Lay four cut popsicle sticks side by side as shown below. Glue the short stick, cut in the previous step, across the four sticks.

Flip the craft to the other side.

Next paint four cut popsicle sticks brown. Paint the two roof sticks and the two manger pieces brown.

You’ll have one short stick left in a natural color for baby Jesus.

Glue one roof stick accross the top of the stable as shown below.

Glue the second roof stick on the other side of the stable.

Glue the two small manger sticks in an x as shown below.

Glue the manger on to the stable.

Cut a half circle from felt for baby Jesus’s swaddling clothes. Also cut a star from felt or the craft material of your choice. You can use foam or paper if you prefer.

Wrap the swaddling clothes around the small natural colored popsicle stick. Glue the fabric in place.

Glue Baby Jesus on top of the manger.

Glue a string or piece of ribbon on the back of the manger to finish the ornament.
