How to Make a Craft Stick Horse
Materials:
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Wiggle Eyes
- Craft Felt – Tan &Brown
- Black Marker
- Craft Glue or a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Brown Craft Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- PATTERNS
Instructions:
To create the horse, line up five jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the horse and attach with glues.
We used a glue gun and glue sticks for this tutorial. However, you can use liquid craft glue for this project if you prefer.
Paintt the horse with brown craft paint.
Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Download, print, and cut out the horse patterns.
Trace the outer ears, and two mane patterns onto brown craft felt, the inner ears and nose onto tan craft felt.
Cut out the traced patterns with scissors, cutting inside the lines to create a clean finished project.
Using scissors, fringe the long edge of the large mane pattern.
Fringe the right and left edges of the small mane pattern.
Attach the tan felt inner ear onto the brown felt outer ear with glue.
Glue the center of the small mane pattern and fold in half.
Attach two wiggle eyes with glue.
Glue the nose at the bottom of the horse.
Adhere the ears to the top right and top left of the horse with glue.
Glue the small mane in between the ears, and the large mane to the right side of the horse.
To finish, draw two oval nostrils on the nose with a black marker.
