How to Make an Axolotl Craft

Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Markers
  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Printed pattern

Instructions:
Print the template and use scissors to cut out the patterns from the printed template.

Select colored craft papers for the axolotl craft.

Use a lighter shade of pink for the head, outer gills, tail, body, belly, and blush patterns. Use dark pink colored craft papers for the inner gill and the inner tail pattern.

Use a pencil to trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and use scissors to cut them out nicely.

Attach the blush cutouts on the head cutout.

Attach the the tear drop shaped inner gill cutouts on the outer gill cutouts.

Attach the gill patterns on both sides of the head.

Take the rectangle paper cutout, which will be used to cover the TP roll, and attach the oval shaped belly cutout on the middle of that rectangle paper.

Attach the head on the top edge, at the middle of the rectangle paper, right above the belly.

Use a marker or a gel pen to draw the face on to the axolotl.

Select an empty toilet paper roll.

Cover the toilet paper roll with the papercraft axolotl and make a tiny fold on the inner edge of the tail pattern.

Apply glue on the thin inner fold of the tail and attach the tail on one side of the axolotl.
