How to Make an Octopus Craft
Materials:
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Wiggle Eyes
- Craft Felt – Lavender & Pink
- Self-Adhesive Pearls
- Black Marker
- Liquid Craft Glue or Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Lavender Craft Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Printed Pattern
Instructions:
To create the octopus tentacles, create two plus (+) signs by gluing two sets of two jumbo craft sticks in the center with glue.
*We used a glue gun and glue sticks for the tutorial, but you can use liquid glue if you prefer.
Layer the octopus tentacles in a plus sign (+) and an (x) configuration with glue.
Paint the octopus tenacles with lavender craft paint.
Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.
Download, print, and cut out the octopus’ pattern.
Trace the head onto lavender craft felt with a black marker.
Cut out the pattern with scissors. Make sure to cut inside the traced lines so you end up with a clean finished project.
Attach the head to the tentacles with glue.
Attach two wiggle eyes with glue.
Cut out two circles from pink craft felt and glue to either side of the octopus’ eyes for the cheeks.
Place three self-adhesive pearls on each octopus tentacle as the suckers or suction cups.
To finish, draw a smile from cheek to cheek with a black marker.
