How to Make a Cupcake Craft

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Craft Glue or a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Craft Paint – Bright Pink & Lavender
  • Craft Felt – Bright Blue, Light Pink, & Bright Pink
  • Pom Poms
  • Black Chenille Stem
  • Iridescent Glitter Glue
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Black Marker
  • Printed Cupcake Pattern

Instructions:

To create the cupcake base, fan out five jumbo craft sticks on your work surface, leaving space in between. Trim one craft stick to width and attach with glue.

Trim four jumbo craft sticks to length, and glue them in the open spaces, in between the first layer of craft sticks. Cut one additional craft stick to width and attach at the top with glue.

Turn the craft over.

Paint the cupcake bases with lavender and bright pink craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. 

Download, print, and cut out the Cupcake Patterns.

Trace the frosting pattern onto bright blue and bright pink craft felt. 

Cut out the cupcake frosting patterns with scissors. 

Attach the frosting to the cupcake bases with glue.

Trace and cut out two cheek patterns from light pink and bright pink craft felt. Dry fit the wiggle eyes and the cheeks.

Attach the cheeks and two wiggle eyes to the craft stick cupcakes with glue.

Cut a black chenille stem into three 4” sections with scissors. Bend into a half circle shaped smile.

Attach chenille stem smile from cheek to cheek with glue.

Outline the cupcake frosting with iridescent glitter glue. Set aside to dry. 

Attach a large pom pom to the top of each cupcake with glue.
