Create a “Finding Dory” Inspired Lunch with Nature’s Harvest® Bread

Uncategorized

My family is so excited about the upcoming “Finding Dory” movie, so when Nature’s Harvest® challenged me to come up with a “Finding Dory” themed kid-friendly lunch I jumped at the chance. Finding Dory Inspired LunchOne thing I’ve learned as a mom of 6 with picky eaters, presentation is often everything when it comes to a picky eater deciding what he or she will eat. Another great way to get picky eaters to try new things is to involve them in planning and cooking meals in age appropriate ways.Finding Dory Inspired Lunch

I find that creating a theme lunch is a great way to create a quick and easy lunch my kids will eat, that they can also help create. Shaped cookie cutters are my go-to for creating themed sandwiches. Then my children’s creativity often takes over for the rest of our lunch plan.Finding Dory Inspired Lunch

For a yummy kid-friendly “Finding Dory” inspired lunch create “Whale & Cheese” sandwiches. Simply layer turkey and Muenster cheese inside Nature’s Harvest® Honey Wheat Made with Whole Grain Bread, then cut the sandwiches with whale and shell cookie cutters. Create an ocean plate using veggie straws for seaweed and blueberries for bubbles and you’ve got a fun healthy meals even the pickiest of eaters can’t wait to try.Finding Dory Inspired Lunch

Finding Dory Inspired LunchAbout the Movie:
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” welcomes back to the big screen everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres), who’s living happily in the reef with Nemo (voice of Hayden Rolence) and Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks). When Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her, the trio takes off on a life-changing adventure across the ocean to California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute, a rehabilitation center and aquarium. In an effort to find her mom (voice of Diane Keaton) and dad (voice of Eugene Levy), Dory enlists the help of three of the MLI’s most intriguing residents: Hank (voice of Ed O’Neill), a cantankerous octopus who frequently gives employees the slip; Bailey (voice of Ty Burrell), a beluga whale who is convinced his biological sonar skills are on the fritz; and Destiny (voice of Kaitlin Olson), a nearsighted whale shark. Deftly navigating the complex innerworkings of the MLI, Dory and her friends discover the magic within their flaws, friendships and family.

Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”), co-directed by Angus MacLane (“Toy Story OF TERROR!”), and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), Disney•Pixar’s  “Finding Dory” swims into theaters June 17, 2016. I would make them grilled cheese with ham. The best part is that the cookie cutter cutout is relatively small in relation to a slice of bread, leaving tons of scraps for me to snack on. I will be extra careful to make sure I get cheese from edge to edge!!!
