Kids will love telling their own Christmas stories with this festive free printable Christmas puppet craft.

How to make Christmas Puppets

List of Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Pencil – to trace the template
  • Craft glue
  • Marker or gel pen
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Template

Instructions:

Download and print out the Christmas puppet template. Cut out the pattern pieces.

Select colored craft papers for the Christmas story figures. The free template includes patterns for Santa, Mrs. Claus and Christmas Elves.

Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut the pieces out.

Let’s start by making the Santa puppet.

Attach both the hat border and the pompom cutouts on the red hat cutout.

Cut 2 slits on the buckle and insert the belt strip through the slits to make Santa’s belt.

Attach the belt along the middle of Santa’s body.

Attach the boot cutouts on the bottom edge of the body.

Attach the beard, mustache and the eyebrow cutouts onto the head cutout.

Use a marker or gel pen to draw the face details onto Santa.

Attach the hat pattern on the top edge of the head.

Attach the head at the top of the body.

Attach the hand cutouts on both sides of the body to complete the Santa.

Now, glue the pieces together to make the Mrs. Claus puppet.

Glue the elf puppet cutouts together, and attach all the characters to popsicle sticks to finish your Christmas puppet craft.
