New Year’s Eve Countdown Cupcakes

Are you ready for New Year’s Eve? My family loves creating fun snacks and desserts to enjoy all night long as we wait for the countdown to the new year.

This year we are so excited to add these fun New Year’s Eve Countdown Cupcakes to our party. Won’t they be the perfect dessert to enjoy as the countdown approaches?

These adorable Countdown Cupcakes are the perfect addition to your New Year’s Eve party!

They are easy to make and so much fun! I know my tweens are going to love making them for our annual family NYE countdown party!

New Year’s Eve Countdown Cupcakes

Ingredients:

6 Vanilla Cupcakes
6 Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (Oreo or any off brand will work)
½ Cup Chocolate Melting Disks
½ Container of Vanilla Frosting
Gold and Silver Sugar
Nonpareil and Gold Star Sprinkles

Directions

Make a batch of your favorite cupcakes and cool them completely. You can also use premade cupcakes. Sometimes I make a big batch and freeze several to decorate later.

With a piping bag or knife, frost all the cupcakes. Sprinkle each cupcake with sugar and sprinkles.

Melt Chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals or until melted. Make sure to stir each time you check it. Place melted chocolate in a small baggie and cut the corner just a tiny tiny bit. or use your favorite piping bag with a very small tip.

Take your sandwich cookie and split apart. You only need the side with the cream, so you (or a child) can enjoy snacking on the other half while you work!

With your chocolate, pipe on the clock numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9. Then draw a little second and minute hand pointing at any of the numbers. Place clock on the cupcake and push down a little so it stays put.
