How to Make an Artemis II Craft

Supplies

  • Colored craft papers
  • Template
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • A pair of scissors
  • Paper bag

Directions:

Download and print out the pattern. Cut out the pattern pieces.

Select colored craft papers and a paper bag for the Artemis 2 craft.

Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out.
Use orange colored craft papers for the base (big rectangle) and the small rectangle patterns to represent Artemis II more accurately.

Take the rocket base (big orange rectangle) cutout and glue the small orange rectangle cutout near the top edge of the base.

Or, simply use a darker shade of orange marker to fill a part on the base.

Take the flame cutouts and glue the smaller ones to the bigger ones. There should be a total of 4 flame patterns.

Glue the nozzle cutouts to the remaining small cutout (with diagonally cut corners). 

Glue the nozzle base to the bottom side of the rocket base.

Take one of the fin cutouts and glue it to the side of the rocket base.

Glue the other fin cutout to the other side of the rocket base.

Glue the flame patterns to the bottom ends of the nozzles and the fins.

Glue the strip down the middle of the rocket.

Use markers to trace outlines on the rocket pieces to give them a neat look.

Glue the body of the rocket onto the paper bag, underneath the flap.

Glue the top nose cone of the rocket to the flap of the paper bag.
