How to make an Uncle Sam Craft for the 4th of July
Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- Marker
- Craft glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Template
Instructions:
Print out the Uncle Sam template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Select colored craft papers, such as construction paper for the Uncle Sam craft. You’ll need a skin color, as well as red, white, blue, grey and brow.
Trace and cut out the template patterns from the chosen colored craft papers.
Take the shirt and bow cutouts.
Attach the small round cutout in the middle of the bow pattern.
Cut slits along the yellow marked lines of the shirt piece. Fold the slit pieces towards the middle to form the collar of the shirt.
Glue the bow onto the shirt, in the middle of the collar opening.
Attach the blue tux piece on the top of the shirt piece.
Attach the hands at the bottom of the sleeves, glueing the hands just behind the sleeve ends.
Now, glue the sleeves onto the tux, being sure to place the arms just behind the tux.
Glue the long white strips on the red pants.
Glue the shoes on the bottom of the pants.
Glue the pants onto the body of Uncle Sam, just behind the tux.
Cut slit along the yellow line on the hair.
Slide the top of the head into the hair, using the slit. Apply some glue to keep the hair in place.
Attach the blue hat strip onto the red hat.
Attach the star cutouts on the blue hat strip.
Glue the hat onto Uncle Sam’s head.
Attach the beard cutout (triangular shape) on Uncle Sam’s chin.
Attach the head onto the shirt.
Use a marker or gel pen to draw the eyes, nose and mouth onto Uncle Sam’s face.
Now, your Uncle Sam craft is complete!
