How to Make a Axolotl Paper Bag Puppet

Ready to get started? Let’s dive into the craft!

Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Paper Bag
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Markers
  • Craft glue
  • Printed template

Instructions:

Download and print out the paper bag puppet pattern. Cut out the pattern pieces.

Trace the patterns on the colored craft papers and cut them out nicely using scissors.

Attach the inner gill cutouts on the outer gill cutouts.

Use a marker to fill the eye bases. Attach the eye cutouts on the head cutout.

Attach the gill patterns on both sides of the head.

Attach the inner tail cutout to the outer tail cutout.

Select a paper bag and cut out a piece of paper to cover one side of the paper bag.
Alternately, you can paint the paper bag. Or use a pink paper bag!

Attach the hind legs along the bottom edge of the prepared paper.

Attach the paper to the paper bag as shown below.

Attach the tail on one side of the paper bag.

Use markers to draw the mouth and cheeks on the head of the axolotl.
Apply glue to the bottom (flap) of the paper bag.

Attach the head pattern on the glued portion of the paper bag to complete the craft.
