Pilgrim Craft for Thanksgiving

Make these adorable Pilgrim girl and boy crafts with your kids this Thanksgiving!

This adorable pilgrim craft makes great Thanksgiving decor, or your kids can add popsicle sticks to the back of the pilgrim boy and girl to create Thanksgiving puppets.

Learn how to make a Pilgrim girl and boy.

Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Craft glue
  • Sharpie
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Print out the pilgrim template, then cut out all of the pilgrim pattern pieces.

Select colored craft paper for the skin tone of the puppets, along with 3 or 4 more different colored craft papers for the other patterns. Make sure to include black and white paper. Trace the dress and hat patterns on the black paper. Trace the rest of the patterns on the chosen craft papers and cut them out. 

Attach the shoe cutouts on the bottom of the dress and pants.

Attach the belts across the middle of the pilgrim’s bodies.

Attach the hat strips on the hats as shown below.

Attach the collar pieces on the top the body pieces. 

Cut slits along the inside lines of the hair pieces of both the boy and girl.

Slide the top of each head piece through the slit as shown below to give your pilgrim’s hair.

Use glue to secure the hair and head pieces together.

Use a marker to draw the face of the Pilgrim boy and girl.

Attach the hat pieces on the top side of the head pieces. 

Attach the heads on top of the pilgrim’s bodies. 

Attach the arm pieces on either side of the pilgrim bodies.

Use a black marker to color the top of each arm to create sleeves on the pilgrims.

*You can also choose to add a popsicle stick to make these pilgrims puppets.

Now that you’ve completed the pilgrim boy and pilgrim girl craft, you can make this adorable Native American boy and girl craft to go with the pilgrims.
