Valentine Rocket – Valentine Craft for Kids

How to make a Valentine Rocket
Materials:
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Craft Foam (red, white, and/or pink)
- Heart Doilies (red, white, and/or pink)
- Felt Heart Stickers
- Glitter Foam Hearts
- Black Marker
- Low temp glue gun and glue sticks
- Acrylic Craft Paint in red, pink, and/or white
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Rocket template
Instructions:
Line up four jumbo craft sticks.
Cut another jumbo craft sticks in half. Attach the cut pieces of craft sticks across the first four craft sticks using hot glue to hold the four stick together. (see below)
*You can use regular craft glue for the rockets, but you’ll need to wait for it to dry before completing the rest of the craft.
Choose a paint color for your rocket. Paint the rocket, applying two coats if necessary for good coverage.
Download, print and cut out Valentine Rocket Patterns.
Choose a color craft foam to match your Valentine Rocket.
Trace the patterns onto the chosen foam piece with a pencil.
Cut out all of the traced rocket parts with scissors. Be sure to cut just inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.
Attach rocket parts to the rocket base using the glue gun and glue sticks. See the photo below for the correct layering and placement of all rocket parts.
Choose a doilie (red, white, or pink). Cut the dolly in half with a pair of scissors.
Attach the two halves of the doilies to the back of the rocket with glue as shown below.
Attach two felt heart stickers to the front of each rocket. Feel free to mix and match the colors of the felt heart stickers on each rocket.
Attach glitter hearts to craft foam rocket flame with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Add details to the rocket with a marker drawing a variety of dots, lines, and stripes on the rocket. Use the photo below as a guide, or make up your own patterns to decorate your rocket with.
