How to make a Paper Bag Turkey Puppet
- Colored craft papers
- Paper bag
- Craft glue
Print out the turkey paper bag puppet template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Choose colored craft papers for the turkey craft. We’re using brown paper for the head and body base, red for the wattle, yellow for the feet and orange for the beak. You can use different shades of orange and red colored craft papers for the feathers.
Trace and cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Take the head cutout and glue the eyes, wattle and beak cutouts on to it as shown below.
Flip the head piece to the other side.
Glue the feather cutouts onto the back of the head pattern, all the way around around the top and both sides. Leave the bottom side free of feathers.
Attach the feathers until you’re happy with the pattern.
Turn the turkey’s head to front side again.
Next, glue the leg cutouts near the open end of the paper bag as shown below.
Attach the turkey’s body on the paper bag, just above the legs.
Glue the head piece on the flap of the paper bag.
Allow your turkey puppet to dry, then use it to tell a Thanksgiving story!
