The Bible is My Best Friend Flip Calendar Review & Giveaway

Reviews, Uncategorized

I try to build memory work into our school day, but when life gets crazy it’s often the first subject I forget to stay on top of. The first years of homeschooling, with only small children, we loved repeating memory verses, poems and important information daily during our circle time each day. But now that my older children often find calm quiet spots to complete school work, together time is no longer naturally built into our day.
The Bible is My Best Friend

Family Christian sent The Bible is My Best Friend: 365 days for a review, and suddenly memory verses are part of my family’s day again. I love how this fun flip calendar makes remembering to practice a weekly memory verse fun rather than forced. Most days, as we all sit down to a meal the children are begging to flip the page and say our verse. We don’t always use our calendar at the same meal each day, but we are guaranteed to sit down all together at the table at least once a day.The Bible is My Best Friend

This calendar is cute to use on its own, as we are, but if you are looking for a family devotional, check out its companion The Bible Is My Best Friend Family Devotional too.

The flip calendar has a sturdy stand, so it will stay open displaying the current day’s page. The pages aren’t dated, so you can start the calendar on any day of the year.  Day one begins with a memory verse for the week. The rest of the weekdays contain fun questions, activities, and facts. We enjoy talking about the information together, and also remember to practice the memory verse each day. The Bible is My Best FriendI love the opportunity to come together about a specific topic each day. The Bible is My Best FriendThere are a good mix of lighthearted days- asking simple Bible trivia questions, suggesting a silly activity or asking a funny question. The Bible is My Best FriendOther more serious topics are sprinkled in- we’ve discussed how God cares for us when we are scared and how God we can depend on God for our future. Day 7 is a second page with the week’s memory verse. The Bible is My Best FriendThis fun calendar makes memorizing scripture fun for the whole family! Great idea. I’m going to start putting them in my planner too! That’s something I check many times a day.

I get a daily Bible verse each day in my email. I usually check my email in the morning and it is a good way to start my day.

We try to start with devotion time first. We recently completed a study on the fruit of the Spirit. I do memory verses with my littlest during her one-on-one time with me. The big kids read their own devotions in the morning and we discuss them over breakfast. I love the flip calendar idea because we could leave it on the table and talk about it every time we come together for a meal.
