“The Boys”
In a big family the children often get grouped together for activities or in conversation. 
In our family we had “the little girls” (Peyton and Emily), and “the big girls” Miriam and Rebekah. Michael often stood alone.
We might say, “the big girls are going to bake the muffins” or “why don’t you leave the little girls home while the big kids go to science class.”
It is so wonderful to finally say, “the boys!”
