How to make a Clay Pot Leprechaun Craft for St. Patrick’s Day

Materials:

  • 3.5 inch Clay Flowerpot
  • 4 inch Clay Flowerpot Saucer
  • Shredded Paper (optional)
  • Bright Green and Black Craft Paints
  • Gold Glitter Glue
  • Yellow and Green Craft Foam
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Green Buttons
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Leprechaun Hat Template

Instructions:

Paint the clay put and saucer a bright green. Add a second coat if needed.

Using a small flat paintbrush, paint a black stripe around the base of the clay pot.

Alternately, you can glue a strip of black yardstick, craft foam, felt or ribbon around the base of the clay pot instead of using paint.

Download, print and cut out the leprechaun hat pattern. Trace the shamrock onto green craft felt or craft foam, and cut out with scissors.

Trace the buckle pattern onto yellow craft foam and cut out with scissors.

Outline the buckle and shamrock with gold glitter glue, and then let the glue dry.

Glue a green button to the center of the shamrock.

Attach the buckle and the shamrock to the leprechaun hat with a glue gun and glue sticks.

**You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Glue the clay pot onto the saucer.

Fill with paper shred and gold foil wrapped candy of choice.
