How to Make a Strawberry Craft

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Craft Glue or a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Craft Paint – Red, Pink, & Black
  • Green Craft Felt
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Black Marker
  • Pencil
  • Printed Pattern

Instructions:

STEP ONE

To create the strawberry, create a triangle with three jumbo craft sticks on your work surface, and secure at the corners with glue. 

*We used a glue gun and glue sticks for the tutorial, but you can use liquid craft glue for this project. Just be sure to leave enough time for each step to dry.

Fit additional jumbo craft sticks along the length of the triangle and mark with a pencil. 

Trim the ends of the jumbo craft sticks with scissors. 

Attach the trimmed jumbo craft sticks to the back of the strawberry with glue. 

Paint the strawberries with red craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. 

Download, print, and cut out the Strawberry Patterns.

Trace the leaf pattern onto green craft felt. 

Cut out the strawberry leaf patterns with scissors. 

Attach the felt leaves and two wiggle eyes to the craft stick strawberries with glue.

Create cheeks by dipping a new pencil eraser into pink acrylic craft paint and stamping on both sides of the strawberry.

Draw a smile from cheek to cheek with a black marker.

To create the strawberry seeds, dip the end of a paintbrush handle into black paint and stamp over the surface. Let paint dry.
