Supplies:
- Felt fabric
- Needle and thread
- Marker pen or pencil
- Scissors
- Sequins
- Cotton
- Printed llama pattern
Instructions:
Download and print out the llama template. Cut out the pattern pieces.
Select felt fabrics for the llama. Trace the patterns on the selected felt fabrics. Cut out the traced patterns using scissors.
Take any one of the body cut outs and draw face details on the head part of the llama. Prepare needle wit black thread and stitch the traced face details.
If you’d like your llama to be reversible, stitch the face details on the other body cutout as well.
Take a body cut out and place it on a flat surface with its wrong side facing up. Place the ear cut outs on the top edge of the head slightly overlapping the ears and the body.
Now place the front body piece with its right side facing up, on the top of the other body. Keep the ears between both llama bodies.
Also place the hair cut out on the top edge of the head, with its zigzag side facing downwards.
Prepare needle and thread and start stitching the sides to join the ears, hair and both of the body pieces.
Continue to stitch until a small opening is left. Keep the opening for stuffing the felt llama.
Stuff the llama with cotton or scrap felt fabrics. After the stuffing is done stitch to close the opening and secure the stuffing. Tie several tight knots and cut off extra thread.
Take the saddle cut out and trace simple patterns on it for stitching. Prepare needle with colourful thread.
You can do simple running stitches and zigzag stitches or any stitch you’d want to decorate with.
Once you are done stitching, draw the needle to the back side of the fabric, tie a knot and cut off extra thread.
Place the saddle on the back of the felt llamaand stitch around the sides of the saddle to attach it to the llama.
Alternately, you can simply use fabric glue to attach the saddle.
