Felt Mushroom Bookmark Craft

How to Make a Felt Mushroom Bookmark
Supplies:
- Felt fabric
- Pencil
- A pair of scissors
- Needle
- Matching thread
- Paper clip
- Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the mushroom bookmark template. There are three different sizes of mushroom bookmarks on the printable template. Choose the size you’d like to make and cut out all of the pattern pieces for that size.
We’re using red and white felts for this craft. But, you can use any colored felt for your mushroom cap that you prefer.
Trace the mushroom patterns on the selected felt fabrics and cut them out using scissors.
Take the dot and cap cutout and prepare a needle with white thread. Stitch the dot cutouts on the cap cutout with appliqué or running stitches.
Stitch 3 or 4 dots on the cap cutout.
Take the base cutout and place the stalk cutout on the base. Prepare a needle with thread that matches the stalk cutout.
Place the cap cutout on the cap part of the base.
Start stitching the stalk to the base. You can either work running stitches or flat blanket stitches along the sides to connect the mushroom pieces to the base.
Stitch all the way around the outside edges of the stalk and cap to connect them to the base.
After stitching around the sides, tie a knot or two to secure the stitching and cut off extra thread.
Take a paperclip and cut out a small piece of scrap felt.
Attach the small felt cutout to the paperclip by weaving it over and under the paperclip.
Place the paperclip on the backside of the felt mushroom.
Stitch the scrap felt piece to the back of the felt mushroom. Only stitch through the back layer of the mushroom.
Tie knots to secure the stitching and then cut off extra thread.
Now you can use your felt mushroom as an adorable Cottagecore bookmark!
