Not only is this Koala puppet craft easy to make, thanks to the free printable template and simple instructions, but it’s also great for pretend play after the crafting is done.

How to make a Paper Bag Puppet Koala

List of Supplies:

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored craft papers in gray, white, black, and pink
  • Pencil
  • A pair of scissors
  • Marker
  • Craft glue
  • Template

Instructions:

Print out the koala puppet template. Cut out all of the pattern pieces.

Choose colored craft papers for the koala bear puppet.

Trace and cut out the patterns.

You can use the eyes directly from the template on your puppet. Or trace them on white paper and use a marker to add the black eyes.

Glue the inner ear cutouts onto the outer ear cutouts.

Attach the nose cutout onto the head cutout.

Also glue the eyes and the blush cutouts on the head cutout.

Use a marker to draw outlines of the eyes and the mouth.

Attach the ears on the top of the head cutout.

Get a piece of gray craft paper, and cut it the same size as the front of the paper bag.

Attach the neck ruff cutout on the gray rectangle paper.

Glue the leg cutouts on the bottom of the gray rectangle.

Get your paper bag ready.

Lift the bottom flap of the paper bag and glue the Koala’s body under the flat and onto the front of the paper bag.

Flatten the bottom part of the paper bag over the front of the koala’s body.

Attach the head on the flat bottom part of the paper bag to finish the paper bag koala bear puppet.
