How to make a Gingerbread Bookmark

Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Brown cardstock paper
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Print out the gingerbread men bookmark template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.

Choose brown cardstock paper for the gingerbread man head and body. You’ll want white paper for the gingerbread man’s hair and cuffs. Then choose any other colors you’d like for the other gingerbread man pieces. Trace and cut out all of the pieces from your chosen papers.

Glue the hair frosting piece on the top of the gingerbread man’s head.

Glue the small circle in the middle of the bow.

Attach the thin wavy strips with glue near the wrists and ankles of the gingerbread man’s body.

Use scissors to trim the extra length off of the wavy pieces.

Glue the blush cutouts on both cheeks.

Glue the head on the top of the body.

Glue the buttons and the bow onto the gingerbread man.

*if you’d like a gingerbread woman, simply glue the bow on to her hair rather than at the neck.

Use a black gel pen or marker to draw the face of the gingerbread man.

Glue the gingerbread man onto a popsicle stick to complete the bookmark (or puppet) craft.

Now, get your favorite Christmas book to place your gingerbread man bookmark in!
