How to Make a Puppet R2D2 Craft

Make this adorable Star Wars R2D2 Puppet with your kids to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4th this year. I know that Star Wars crafts are always a big hit with my little Star Wars fans!

Star Wars Day is such a fun time to geek out about all things Star Wars with your kids. These 11 fun ways to celebrate May 4th will have your entire family begging for the next Star Wars Day to come back around.

How to make an R2D2 Puppet for Star Wars Day

Supplies:

  • Colored paper
  • Popsicle stick
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Marker
  • Scissors
  • Template

Directions:

Print out the template and cut out all the pattern pieces.

Trace the patterns on the colored paper indicated on the template sheet.

Cut out all the R2D2 puppet pieces.

Glue grey half circle on the top of R2D2’s body. Then glue the grey strip along the bottome of his body.

Begin glueing the blue accent pieces to R2D2 as shown below.

Trim the extra sides off of the attached blue strips.

Finish glueing the details on R2D2, as shown below.

Glue the remaining accent pieces to R2D2 

Use a black marker to draw the little details on R2D2. 

Glue R2D2 onto a popsicle stick to complete your R2D2 puppet.

Now have some fun pretending to be R2D2!
