Supplies:
- Colored cardstock papers
- Colored craft papers
- Pencil
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
- Markers
- Popsicle stick
- Brad pins
- String
- Printed pattern
Instructions:
Download and print out the eagle pattern. Cut out the pattern pieces.
Select colored cardstock papers for the body base and the wing patterns.
Select colored craft papers for the rest of the patterns.
Trace the patterns on the selected papers and cut out the traced patterns with scissors.
Draw the eyes on the eye bases and glue the eyes on the head cutout.
Attach the beak cutout on the head, below the eyes.
Attach the head pattern on the top part of the body base cutout.
Take the wing cutouts and make 2 holes on each wing as shown below.
Make holes on both sides of the body base, right below the head part. Attach the feet on the bottom edge of the body base.
Turn the body pattern to the backside. Match the hole on either side of the body base with the hole near the short side of the wing.
Use a brad pin to connect the wing to the body base through the aligned holes.
Similarly, join the other wing. Prepare a small strand of string. Use a needle for the string, making it easier to draw the string through the holes.
Insert the string through the right hole of the left wing, from the top. Secure the open end of the string by tying a knot on the top.
Now, draw the string through the right hole of the left wing. Draw the string from the bottom to the top.
Keep the wings closed and pull the string to a straight line. Tie another knot on the open end to secure the string to the wings.
Place the popsicle stick under the string, right in the middle. Use glue or double sided tape to attach the popsicle stick to the string, in the middle.
Pull the popsicle stick downwards to flap the wings.
Push the popsicle stick upwards to close the wings.
