- Threads
- Scissors
- Marker
- Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the owl bookmark template.
Cut the template patterns.
Select colored felt fabrics for the owl bookmark.
Use a fabric marking pen or chalk to trace the template patterns on the chosen felt pieces and cut them out using scissors.
Take the face cutout and use a pen to trace the eyes on it.
Prepare a needle with black thread.
Stitch along the traced eyes with the black thread.
We used a back-stitch for the eyes.
Place the beak cutout near the bottom middle of the face cutout.
Use matching thread to stitch the beak to the the face cutout.
Take the bookmark base cutout and place the face piece on the wider part keeping the pointy ears above the face piece.
Stitch the face to the owl base with blanket stitches.
Work an embroidered pattern on the wing cutouts using colored thread and a design of your choice.
Take the triangle piece of fabric.
Place the owl on the top of the triangle piece as shown below.
Work running stitches along the two sides of the triangle shapes to connect the front and back of the corner bookmark.
Keep the top edge of the back triangle free of stitches. Tie a knot or two and cut off extra thread.
Now your owl bookmark is ready to be used as a corner bookmark.
