Your kids will love making these fun pirate puppets and then they’ll have a great time using their imaginations to play with these pirate puppets.

How to make Pirate Puppets

Supplies:

pirate puppet supplies
  • Colored papers
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Marker
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Directions:

Print and cut out all the template pieces for the pirate puppet craft.

Choose the colored papers you’d like to use for your pirate popsicle stick puppet craft.

Trace the pirate template patterns on the colored papers you chose. Cut all of the pieces out.  

I recommend making one puppet at a time. I’ll show you exactly how to make the adult pirate.

Glue the pirate’s hands onto his sleeves.

Flue his beard and mustache to his head.

Glue the shirt to his pants.

Glue the pirate’s boot to one pant leg, and his peg leg to the other.

Use a marker to draw stripes onto the pirates shirt and sleeves.

Glue the sleeves to the pirate’s shirt.  

Glue the pirate’s head onto his shirt.

Glue the eye patch onto his head, then use a marker to draw his face and details as shown below.

Glue the skull to his hat, and then glue the hat on his head.

 

Glue the pirate onto a popsicle to complete your pirate puppet.

Now, make the rest of the pirate story puppets in a similar fashion by looking at the picture of the craft below.

Now, use your pirate puppets to create a fun pirate story!
