How to make a pirate ship craft

Supplies:

  • Colored paper
  • Craft glue
  • Marker
  • Scissors
  • Template

Directions

Print and cut out the pirate ship template. Choose the colored papers you’d like to use for your craft.

We chose 3 different shades of blue for the ocean, and dark brown, light brown, red, black and gray for the ship. You can use any colors you’d like.

Trace the pattern pieces on the papers you chose, then cut them out.

Using glue to attach the craft pieces, layer the two pieces of the ship. Also, attach the sails in cross patterns. (See below for placement.)

Glue the sails to the masts, as you see below.

Glue the crow’s nest to the top of the largest mast.

Glue the two circle windows to the ship.

Glue the flags to the top of the masts, then glue the masts to the ship.

Glue the skull onto the largest sail, then use a marker to draw the outlines of the pirate ship, as shown below.

Gather the three blue papers for the sea.

Glue the 3 layers of sea together, as shown below. Only use glue at the bottom edges, to leave openings between the waves.

Insert the ship between the top two layers of the sea, using glue to attach the ship.

You can also glue shark fins or an octopus in between the layers of the sea.
