Supplies:
- Felt fabric
- Needle and thread
- Cotton batting or scrap felt
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the sun, moon, and earth template. Cut out all of the template pieces.
Select orange, yellow, blue, green, white and light grey colored felt fabrics for the craft.
Trace the moon round shapes on white felt and the inner patterns on light grey felt.
Trace the zigzag round pattern on orange and the round shape on yellow felt for the sun.
Trace the round shapes for the earth on blue felt and the inner patterns on green felt.
Cut out the traced patterns.
Grab a blue round cutout of the earth pattern and the green pieces. Stitch the green patterns on the round cutout using green thread.
You don’t have to stitch through any green at the outside edge of the blue circle, as that will be connected when sewing the front and back of the earth together later.
Place the other plain blue round cutout under the stitched one.
Prepare needle with blue thread and stitch the 2 round cut-outs together around the side, leaving a small opening.
Keep a small opening to stuff the felt Earth with cotton bating or scrap felt.
Stitch the small opening to secure the stuffing. Tie a knot and cut off extra thread.
Grab the sun cutouts.
Place the yellow cutout in the center of the zigzag circle.
Stitch around the side of the yellow cutout to attach it to the zigzag piece.
Keep a small opening to stuff the yellow part before closing the side.
Stitch to close the opening, tie a knot or two and then cut off extra thread.
Craft the moon like we crafted the earth plush.
Stitch the grey cutouts on either round cutout and then stitch the round cutouts together with matching thread.
Remember to stuff the moon with cotton batting before closing it completely..
