Santa’s Sleigh Garland
Make a own festive Christmas Paper Garland to decorate your mantel or home this Christmas.
Santa’s sleigh and his reindeer make the cutest DIY Christmas decor! Santa and Rudolph can fly over your mantle with this super cute garland craft.
Teachers will also love decorating their Christmas bulletin boards or the classroom door with this festive Christmas Garland.
How to Make a Santa’s Sleigh Garland for Christmas
List of Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- Pencil
- Markers
- String or ribbon
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
- Printed template
Instructions:
Download and print out the Santa garland template. Cut out the pattern pieces.
Prepare the template patterns and select colored craft papers for the garland.
Trace the template pattern on the selected craft papers and cut them out using scissors.
Let’s start with Santa.
Glue the beard cutout to the head cutout.
Attach the hat cutouts to the hat base.
Attach the head to the top edge of the body base.
Glue the hat to the top edge of the head piece.
Use a marker or gel pen to draw the face onto Santa.
Glue the sleigh cutouts together and use a marker to outline the sleigh’s base.
Attach the paper Santa and the gift bag pieces to the top edge of the paper sleigh.
Glue the inner ear and the nose cutouts to the Rudolph base cutout.
Attach the horn cutouts to the top edge of the head and attach the tail cutout to the backside of Rudolph.
Use a marker to draw hoofs, outlines, bells, and other details onto Rudolph.
Connect the sleigh and Rudolph with a paper strip. (or continue making more reindeer with black or brown noses to place between Santa and Rudolph)
Craft the ornament paper piece as shown below.
Glue the bell piece together as shown below.
Measure and cut out a string or ribbon for the garland.
Attach the papercraft items to the string by applying glue or tape and attaching the string to the back side of the items.
Once the items are attached to the string, turn the string to the right side.
Attach the sleigh and Rudolph to another string.
You can make several reindeer to give Santa a full sleigh of his reindeer if you wish.
