How to make Popsicle Stick Animal Bookmarks

List of Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Pencil – to trace the template
  • Craft glue
  • Marker or gel pen
  • A pair of scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Download and print the Spring Bookmark template. Cut out all of the pattern pieces.

Select colored craft papers for the chick, bunny and sheep puppets.

We’re using off-white embossed paper for the sheep but you can also use plain white paper.

Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out nicely.

Attach the eye cutouts on to the chick’s head cutout.

Attach the feet cutouts along the bottom side of the chick’s body.

Attach the beak and the blush cutouts on to the chick’s head as well.

Attach the wing cutouts on both sides of the chick’s body.

Attach the head on the top of the body to finish the chick.

Attach the eye cutouts on the sheep’s head cutout.

Attach the leg cutouts along the bottom edge of the body cutout.

Attach the blush cutouts on the head.

Glue the tail cutout on one side of the body.

Glue the hair to the top of the head cutout.

Use a black marker to draw the nose and mouth onto the sheep.

Glue the head on top of the body to complete the sheep.

Trace, cut out and glue the bunny pieces to craft the bunny.

Attach the papercraft puppets onto popsicle sticks to use them as puppets or bookmarks.

Alternately, if using the animals as bookmarks, you can glue them onto a thin strip of cardstock, or ribbon.
