How to Make a Pot of Gold St. Patrick’s Day Craft

Supplies:

  • Colored papers
  • Gold glitter paper
  • White embossed paper
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Directions:

Print the template and cut out all of the patter pieces.

Trace the cloud shapes on white embossed paper, the rainbow patterns on rainbow colors, the pot pattern on black, and trace the coins on golden glitter paper. If you don’t have white textured paper, just use plain white. If you don’t have gold paper, yellow will work well.

Cut out all the pieces using scissors.

If you don’t have any textured white paper on hand, use a crayon or colored pencil to add a textured look to your cloud piece.

If you used plain yellow paper for the gold coins, you can add some glitter.

Choose a piece of paper for your background.

Begin gluing the rainbow strips to the paper. The narrow end of the strip should be towards the top of the paper. Start building your rainbow in the middle and working outwards to each side of the paper to help keep the rainbow well centered.

Finish gluing down all the colors of your rainbow.

Glue the pot down on top of the rainbow as show below. Keep the very top of the pot free of glue so you can tuck the gold coins in later.

You may need to trim the outer rainbow pieces if they stick out from under the pot.

Glue the cloud on top of the rainbow.

Put glue on the back of the gold coins and tuck them into the pot a little when you glue them down.

Trace and cut out shamrock patterns from green paper. Glue the shamrocks onto your art work however you wish.

Now, you’ve got a rainbow and a pot of gold for St. Patrick’s Day!
