How to make an Astronaut Craft
Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- Craft sticks
- Markers
- Craft glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Astronaut Template
- Outer Space Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the astronaut template. Cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Download and print the outer space items template. Choose which items you’d like to create and cut those pattern pieces out. You’ll find options for planets, stars, meteors, shooting stars, moons and more.
Select colored craft papers for the astronaut and the other items. Trace the patterns on the selected papers and cut them out.
Glue the glove cutouts to the arm cutouts.
Glue the ear cutouts on both sides of the helmet cutout.
Glue the hair cutout on the top edge of the head cutout.
Glue the boot cutouts on the astronaut suit cutout.
Glue the astronaut’s head in the middle of the helmet cutout.
Glue two strips along on the astronaut suit, as shown below.
Glue the helmet at the top of the astronaut suit.
Glue the arm pieces to either side of the astronaut suit.
Attach the smaller strips along the edges of the boots and the glove pieces.
Use a marker to draw the eyes, nose and mouth onto the astronaut’s face.
Glue a craft stick to the back of the astronaut to make your puppet.
Next, make any other space items, such as planets and shooting stars by glueing the pieces together as you like, then glue the space items onto craft sticks.
