How to Make Garden Insect Bookmarks

Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Pencil – to trace the template
  • Craft glue
  • Marker or gel pen
  • A pair of scissors
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Printed pattern

Instructions:

Download and print out the insect pattern. Cut out the pattern pieces.

Select different colored craft papers for the insect patterns. Trace the prepared template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out. The template includes patterns for, butterfly, snail, caterpillar, ladybug, bee and dragonfly.

Let’s start with the butterfly and snail patterns. Attach the antenna cutouts on the top edge of the head parts.

Attach the blush cutouts onto the snail’s head.

Attach the shell cutout on the backside of the body base.

Use a marker to draw a twirl pattern on the shell part and draw the face onto the snail as well.

Use a marker to draw horizontal lines on the lower body part of the butterfly’s body.

Attach the blush cutouts on the head part.

Use a marker to draw the face onto the butterfly.

Take the wing cutout and attach the smaller cutouts on the wing.

Complete the wing by adding the smaller patterns on the wing base.

Attach the butterfly wings on both sides of the butterfly body base.

Attach the insects on popsicle sticks to complete the craft.

Create the rest of the insects with the other pattern pieces.
