This super cute popsicle stick farm animals are the cutest addition to any farm unit study, a farm themed party, or for any animal lover.

Craft sticks can be turned into just about anything with a little imagination. Follow the easy tutorial below to turn some jumbo crafts sticks into a pig, a horse, a cow, and a chicken.

How to make Farm Animals from Craft Sticks

Materials:

• Jumbo Craft Sticks
• Craft Felt in Black, Brown, Pink, Red, & Orange (you can use construction paper instead)
• Wiggle Eyes
• Assorted Buttons
• Craft Glue
• Craft Paint in White, Black, Brown, Pink, and Yellow (or use markers)
• Paintbrush
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Black Marker
• CRAFT STICK FARM ANIMAL PATTERN

Instructions:

Basecoat one jumbo craft stick with pink craft paint, one with brown craft paint, one with white craft paint, and one with yellow craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

If you’d prefer, you can use markers or crayons to color the craft sticks.

Paint random spots on the white craft stick with black craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

You can use a black marker rather than paint if you prefer.

Download and print the FARM ANIMAL PATTERNS.

Cut out patterns with scissors.

Using a black marker, trace the pig ears on pink felt, the cow ears on black felt, the horse ears and mane on brown felt, the chicken beak on orange felt, and the chicken comb on red felt.

You can swap the craft felt for construction paper if you’d prefer.

Cut out all patterns with scissors.

Fringe the horse mane with scissors.

Glue the animal details onto each animal. 

For the pig, attach pink felt ears to the back, two wiggle eyes, and a pink button snout to the front. 

For the horse, attach the brown felt ears and mane to the back, two wiggle eyes and a brown button muzzle to the front.

For the cow, attach the black felt ears to the back, two wiggle eyes and a peach button muzzle to the front.

For the chicken, attach the red felt comb to the back, two wiggle eyes and the orange felt beak to the front.
