How to make a Penguin Ornament for Christmas

Instructions:

Print out the penguin ornament template and cut out all of the template pieces.

Select black, white and orange colored felt fabrics for the penguin pieces.

Select different bright colored felt fabrics for the light bulb pieces.

Trace and cut out the patterns.

Stitch the felt bulb cutouts on the felt string cutout.

Stitch the penguin’s beak on the top part of the white body piece.

Use black thread to stitch the eyes on both sides of the beak.

Place the white body piece on top of one of the black penguin body pieces.

Stitch the front piece onto the black piece using white thread.

Take the other black base cutout and place the wing cutouts on both sides of it, as shown below.

Place the feet cutouts on the bottom edge of the base, as shown below.

Now, place the penguin’s front on top of the penguin’s back base piece, keeping the wings and feet between both base layers.

Stitch around the sides of the base pieces with black thread to join them together.

Remember to keep a small opening to stuff the penguin felt pattern with cotton batting or scrap felt.

Stitch the opening closed after you’re done stuffing the felt penguin pattern.

Place the light string piece on the felt penguin, with the ends of the string in each of the wings.

Stitch the string light onto the felt penguin plush.

Get the felt hat patterns and a piece of pompom to create the hat.

Place the 2 hat cutouts together and stitch both sides, keeping the bottom side open. Stitch the pom pom to the top of the hat.

Put the felt hat on the penguin and stitch it into place to complete the plush penguin craft.
