How to make Reese’s Spider Cookies for Halloween

Ingredients:

  • flour
  • baking soda
  • baking powder
  • sugar
  • brown sugar
  • creamy peanut butter
  • butter
  • egg
  • vanilla extract
  • Mini Reese’s peanut butter cup candies
  • chocolate chips
  • Candy eyes

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter until smooth and creamy.

Add the egg and vanilla and beat to combine.

Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and beat to combine.

Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to scoop the dough and roll it into a ball. Roll the ball in the sugar.

Place each cookie ball on the lined baking sheet. Lightly press the cookie down with your hand to flatten it, then bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press a peanut butter cup into the top of each cookie.

Allow the cookies to cool for five minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

When the cookies are cooled, place the melted chocolate chips in a piping bag and pipe eight legs on the sides of each peanut butter cup. Use the melted chocolate to attach two eyes to the top of each peanut butter cup.

Allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.
