Fun Variations to Try
Create a Family Camping Keepsake
Turn this craft into a special family memento by tracing each family member’s hand once and using those handprints to build the campfire flames. The finished project becomes a sweet reminder of family camping trips and outdoor adventures together.
Use Painted Handprints
Instead of tracing and cutting paper handprints, dip hands into washable paint and create real handprint flames. Layer red, orange, and yellow painted prints to create a vibrant campfire with extra texture and personality.
Swap the Paper for Craft Foam
Create a sturdier version by cutting the pieces from colorful craft foam. The foam adds dimension and durability, making the finished campfire great for classroom displays and bulletin boards.
Make It with Felt
Felt creates a soft and textured version of the craft. This option is especially fun for sensory activities and can be reused as part of pretend camping play.
Add Sparkly Embellishments
Decorate the flames with glitter, sequins, metallic paper, or gem stickers to make the fire appear extra bright and magical. Kids love adding special touches that make their campfire unique.
Add Marshmallows
Cut small marshmallow shapes from white paper and glue them onto craft stick “roasting sticks” for an extra fun camping detail.
